The couple chose to have their ceremony on the grounds of Skirball in front of a pond. To highlight the scene's natural romance, their florist constructed "lily pads" highlighted by flickering candles to float in the water behind the par as they exchangedI dos. Their impeccable timing played a role in the ceremony, too: Melissa and her bridesmaids walked a 40-yard-long "aisle" down a hill and around the pond. Just before Melissa's entrance, a pair of

uninvited guersts made an appearance along the path: Two deer stopped on the aisle and stared at the amazed attendees for a few moments, bounding away just before the 10-piece wind and string orchestra began playing the bride's processional. "Some people thought it was pre-arranged. They joked that my dad would stop at nothing to give me the perfect wedding, including hiring wildlife!"
